Wood Chip Moisture

If you are in the business of wood chip production and manufacturing, then you understand the primary importance of accurate moisture levels and readings in your product.

To avoid low quality product that is too wet, or to avoid wasting energy on over-drying, taking proactive steps to continually monitor moisture in wood chips can save time and money overall.

In fact, our priority at MoistTech is to assist those who work with wood chips to ensure that only the highest quality product is delivered to your customers.

Sensor Installation

Monitor your product continually by installing our wood chip moisture gauge a few inches above the conveyor belt. Even if there are small gaps in product flow, our sensor can still give accurate readouts.

Whether you choose to monitor your product manually or automatically, our state-of-the-art sensor can help you through the wood chip monitoring process. We also have developed real-time process measurement, which you can learn more about in our sampling technology section.

Application Environment

Our wood chip moisture sensor does well even in dusty environments. If your environment is extremely dusty, you can benefit from an Air Purge System, which will significantly help in keeping your sensor free of dust and reading accurately.

You may also need to monitor your sensor if it’s installed near high-heat areas, like a dryer outlet. You can choose to cool the sensor with air or water.

Benefits of Wood Chip Moisture Gauge:

The MoistTech staff is experienced with the wood chip moisture sensing requirements in the manufacturing process. We pre-set sensor calibrations, measurement wavelengths, algorithms and sensor optical requirements at our factory. Typical accuracy is about ±0.1% moisture. Typical analog range is 0-20% moisture. The outputs can be adjusted to optimize PLC or recording requirements.
