Moisture Content in Sludge Applications
With the help of industry partners and 40 years of knowledge and experience, MoistTech has developed the IR 3000 Moisture Sensor that is ideally suited to measure the moisture levels in high moisture sewage to provide cost savings to sewage treatment plants worldwide.
The IR3000 incorporates MoistTech’s new low wavelength technology developed specifically for the measurement of liquid and sludge products in a pipeline, after the filter press and on conveyors. Additionally, the sensor utilizes MoistTech’s sapphire optical window sampler viewer which is designed for online installation and to withstand a variety of process conditions regarding temperature and pressure.
With the MoistTech’s sewage online moisture monitoring system treatment plants are saving money in energy & landfill transportation costs.
We recommend installing a sensor after the feeder press, prior to dryer or after the filter press for disposal to reduce shipping charges and environmental problems. In the case of incineration, we recommend installation prior to the drum dryer where solids are controlled to approximately 12%.
Unlike other instrumentation of this type, some of the unique features of the IR3000 is that it can monitor the product even with small gaps in product flow and is unaffected by ambient light without impacting the accuracy. The model 3000 is also ideal for installations on chain and screw conveyors.
The sensor(s) can be located throughout the sewage process and can be directly connected to the users PLC or any laptop. Ethernet and 4-20 ma are included as well as our high-tech Windows operating software. DPM (Digital Panel Meter) and a Color Touch Screen Operator Interface are also available as read-out options.
Sensor calibrations, measurement wavelengths, algorithms and sensor optical requirements are pre-set at the factory. Typical accuracy is +/- 0.5% and over a range of 75-90% moisture.
