Explosives & Nitrocellulose Moisture

When working with volatile chemicals, both the upper and lower levels of moisture need to be considered. Moisture measurements must be continuously taken to track explosives and nitrocellulose moisture. MoistTech’s sensors can give you the continuous readings you need.

About Our Sensors

MoistTech has developed the IR-3000 moisture sensor that is ideally suited to measure the moisture levels in explosives and nitrocellulose. Regardless of what phase of the process the chemicals are in, our sensors can measure and provide continuous readings. In the lab or on the line, our NIR moisture sensors will take readings without needing any physical contact with the chemicals or other raw materials. Also, material variations have no effects on the sensor.

Correct readings can keep chemicals from being overly dried. Once the optimal moisture level has been determined, the MoistTech’s NIR sensor, with the help of your team, will keep it there.

Our chemical moisture sensor calibrations, measurement wavelengths, algorithms and sensor optical requirements are pre-set at the factory. For moisture analysis involving dried chemicals, accuracy can be expected to be +/-0.05%.

Once calibrated, the NIR sensor is maintenance free.

Cost Savings Are Significant When You Control Explosives And Nitrocellulose Moisture.

By having the ability to control your explosives and nitrocellulose moisture levels in your manufacturing process, fuel and energy costs are reduced. The drying process is one of the largest users of energy in the entire process. The right moisture sensor can help reduce drying times and save you money. In addition, there is a reduction in the waste of raw materials.
